1 Add the Homebrew tap

2 Install Launchie

brew install --cask launchie

Managing Launchie with Homebrew

brew update && brew upgrade --cask launchie

โŒ Uninstall Launchie:

brew uninstall --cask launchie

Unzip the downloaded file to extract Launchie.app

Drag Launchie.app to your Applications folder

System Requirements

macOS 26 Tahoe or later
Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4+)
~ 5 MB disk space
Intel Macs are currently not supported
macOS 25 and earlier are not supported

First Launch Security Notice

When launching Launchie for the first time, macOS may show a security warning. Simply right-click on Launchie.app and select "Open" to bypass this one-time warning.

Troubleshooting

Launchie won't open / "Cannot be opened" error

This is a macOS security feature. Right-click on Launchie.app in Applications and select "Open". Click "Open" in the dialog that appears. This only needs to be done once.

Homebrew installation fails

Make sure you have Homebrew installed first. Visit brew.sh for installation instructions. If you're still having issues, try the manual installation method instead.

Launchie doesn't respond to CMD+K

Make sure Launchie has accessibility permissions. Go to System Settings โ†’ Privacy & Security โ†’ Accessibility and add Launchie to the list. You can also customize the hotkey in Launchie's settings.
