Set up Launchie keyboard shortcuts

Choose a global hotkey for Launchie and learn how to use Command+Space instead of Spotlight.

Launchie can be opened with a global keyboard shortcut, so you do not need to rely on the menu bar or Dock.

Change the Launchie shortcut

  1. Open Launchie and go to Settings.
  2. Open General.
  3. Find Global Hotkey.
  4. Click the hotkey recorder and press the shortcut you want to use.

You can also clear the shortcut completely if you only want to open Launchie from the menu bar, Dock, or Hot Corners.

  1. Open macOS System Settings.
  2. Go to KeyboardKeyboard Shortcuts.
  3. Open Spotlight.
  4. Disable Spotlight’s Command + Space shortcut or change it to something else.
  5. Go back to Launchie SettingsGeneral and record Command + Space as your Launchie hotkey.
  6. Restart Launchie if needed.
  • Show Hotkey Display shows the active shortcut in the Launchie window.
