Set up Launchie keyboard shortcuts
Choose a global hotkey for Launchie and learn how to use Command+Space instead of Spotlight.
Launchie can be opened with a global keyboard shortcut, so you do not need to rely on the menu bar or Dock.
Change the Launchie shortcut
- Open Launchie and go to Settings.
- Open General.
- Find Global Hotkey.
- Click the hotkey recorder and press the shortcut you want to use.
You can also clear the shortcut completely if you only want to open Launchie from the menu bar, Dock, or Hot Corners.
How to use Command+Space with Launchie
macOS usually reserves Command + Space for Spotlight.
To use that shortcut with Launchie:
- Open macOS System Settings.
- Go to Keyboard → Keyboard Shortcuts.
- Open Spotlight.
- Disable Spotlight’s
Command + Spaceshortcut or change it to something else. - Go back to Launchie Settings → General and record
Command + Spaceas your Launchie hotkey. - Restart Launchie if needed.
